Sustainably Sourcing Rice Far The Future

Rice is a staple for half the global population, so it needs to be protected. As the maker of UNCLE BEN’S®, the world’s largest global rice brand, we are working to create a sustainable rice supply that can help support business growth and the nutritional needs of a growing population.

As always, we’re challenging ourselves to transform how we do business today, to help create the world we want to see tomorrow. And how our products’ rice is grown plays a big part.

Propelling Mars Toward Sustainable, Renewable Energy Goals

Bold ambitions require bold actions. So when Mars flipped the switch to wind in Mexico, we ensured that our electricity consumption is 100% renewable, powered by a new wind farm in Dzilam Bravo, Mexico.

Mars Mexico joins nine other regional Mars operations that are migrating to clean energy, including Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Lithuania, Poland, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. Australia will come online soon.

10 Billion People Are Coming to Dinner

Our Global President, Mars Food, Multisales and Global Customers, Fiona Dawson, wrote a compelling piece for The Telegraph in the U.K., emphasizing obligations businesses have to rise to the challenge of feeding a growing planet with limited resources. Today, rice is a daily staple for 3.5 billion people worldwide. Tomorrow, we need to increase rice production 25% in the next 25 years to feed our growing global population.

Every Day Is Earth Day at Mars

This year, Earth Day is dedicated to wildlife conservation and preserving our planet's biodiversity, a commitment we too share at Mars. It has never been more necessary for businesses to step up and help create a healthy planet where everyone — including all animals, big and small — thrive.

We take our responsibility seriously and pledge to create the world we want tomorrow through our actions today. Our Sustainable in a Generation plan embodies this commitment to address climate change, deforestation and habitat loss – all factors that impact animals.

Chew Your Way to a Better You

We’re working hard to create a happier, healthier tomorrow for you and your teeth! Turns out, having a healthier smile — and sharper mental focus — could be as simple as chewing sugar-free gum.

Gum + Oral Health

Worldwide, oral diseases are the fourth most expensive conditions to treat. And while tooth decay is largely preventable, it still affects anywhere from 60 to 90 percent of schoolchildren and nearly all adults.

Deforestation Prevention Overview Policy

The world's forests don't just provide us with ingredients for our products — they're basically the lungs of the planet. We know we have not just a big impact on the world, but a responsibility to make sure we do right for the many communities where we work and live. We source many of our key ingredients from tropical countries, and we’ve taken bold action to prevent deforestation and its impact on local communities.

Mars Petcare & GSA Partner To Make Pets A Part Of The Conversation For Older Adults

The benefits to humans from pet interaction have been well documented, from reducing stress to keeping us active to providing safety. But Mars Petcare has taken this work a step further and looked specifically at the impact of animals on older adults. Could a pet help navigate the numerous life changes facing older adults, including loss of loved ones, retirement, illness and more?
